Chris Calenda

Senior Software Engineer

Chris has over 10 years of experience in an array of technical roles. He began his career at Verizon Communications where he spent 6 years working in data engineering, software development, datacenter builds and project management roles. The wide-ranging experience taught him to be fluent in managing projects as well as contributing to their technical needs. Chris received multiple accolades during his tenure, including four Vice Presidential Achievement awards.

Following Verizon, Chris joined Efficax Data Systems, a near-startup-environment data engineering company, as the Director of Engineering where he successfully led the technical effort to capture major business clients until the company was acquired by TargetSmart.

Upon joining TargetSmart in 2013, Chris has served primarily in development roles, initially as a manager in the Data Engineering team and now with the Development team. He recently focused heavily on the ShopperSights consumer marketing web platform as architect and lead developer during its lifecycle. Chris now works primarily as a developer on the internal TargetSmart systems that are the nuts and bolts of the core business. Chris has the ability to develop full stack applications from the ground up and is known for having a breadth of many technologies.

Chris graduated from the University of Miami with a B.S. in Systems Analysis and from the University of Maryland – Robert H. Smith School of Business with an M.B.A. in Business & Management. He also holds a current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, issued by the Project Management Institute. He resides in Rhode Island with his wife and their two dogs Rocco and Vito.
