TargetSmart Launches One-Stop Dashboard for Early Vote Data

Washington, D.C. – Today, TargetSmart, a Democratic political analytics firm, launched TargetEarly a first of its kind dashboard of state-by-state early vote data at targetearly.targetsmart.com.  Information will be updated twice a day and includes a wealth of demographic data like age and gender; and modeled data like vote propensity, party ID and more.

To date, TargetEarly has data on more than 5 million voters who have participated in early vote. The number will grow exponentially in the coming days.

“For years TargetSmart has developed best-in-class reporting and analysis tools on early and absentee voting for our internal teams and clients. This year, we’re making some of this information available to the press, public and election watchers,” said Tom Bonier, CEO of TargetSmart. “TargetEarly is the first-ever comprehensive resource for the public to track early voting in near real-time. Our hope is that TargetEarly will provide useful insight and motivate more Americans to participate in the process.”

TargetEarly links early vote data to TargetSmart’s national voter registration database, where TargetSmart can observe and report on the demographic and political composition of individuals that have voted early, absentee, or have requested a ballot.

For example, in Nevada, TargetEarly finds that 79,007 voters have voted earlier or absentee. Of those voters, nearly 19% have either never voted before or are infrequent voters. Democrats lead early vote by a projected 44.54% to 37.73% while 13.2% are unaffiliated.

Data can be viewed in a variety of formats, including charts, plotted on state-specific maps and by eight demographic or modeled sub groups.
