Alex leads TargetSmart’s Strategic Solutions team, providing research and data analysis to state, local, and national organizations. He helps partners plan, implement, and evaluate campaigns by delivering data-driven insights that inform strategic decision-making. His experience includes work in the rough-and-tumble world of redistricting, where he applies expertise in political geography and demographic analysis to complex challenges. Alex works closely with clients to create intuitive, actionable reports that help organizations achieve their goals. Outside of electoral work, he has applied his analytical skills to projects ranging from interactive art installations to studying whether proximity to Waffle Houses predicts March Madness success — a thoroughly researched hypothesis that proved spectacularly wrong, but methodologically sound. Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts from American University.
