A Weekly Inventory Intelligence Report
With Election Day just days away, this is our final Midterm Countdown before November 3. This week we’re looking at Texas and Kansas, which have recorded more than 6.37 million EV/AV votes combined as of October 29. Both states are running well ahead of 2022, the last midterm election, with younger voters and lower-propensity voters making up a larger share of the early electorate.

Texas: Record single-day turnout and a younger electorate
Texas has recorded more than 6.04 million EV/AV votes as of October 29, 26.8% more than at the same point in 2022. On October 28, 1,305,223 EV/AV votes were recorded, the biggest day of the cycle so far. That beat the largest single-day totals from both the 2018 and 2022 midterms and surpassed the 2024 presidential-cycle peak of 921,716. A meaningful share of the vote is still likely to come before November 3. In 2022, over 30% of the EV/AV total came in during the final five days before the election.
The electorate is also younger. Voters ages 18 to 29 make up 10.7% of EV/AV votes, up from 8.2% in 2022, while the 65+ share has declined from 37.2% to 36.0%. Infrequent Voters have grown from 12.8% to 17.7%, and women make up 54.9% of early voters, up from 53.2%.
Advertising is at record levels as well. According to AdImpact, Texas’s U.S. Senate race has drawn more than $490 million in aired ad spending through mid-October, the most of any congressional race this cycle.
Kansas: EV/AV up 37.2% with much of the vote still to come
Kansas recorded over 335,273 EV/AV votes as of October 29, 37.2% more than at the same point in 2022 and 26.6% more than in 2018. Kansas typically has much more of its early vote to come at this stage than Texas does. In both 2018 and 2022, more than half of Kansas’s early vote came in during the final five days before Election Day.
Voters under 45 make up 18.5% of EV/AV votes, up from 14.5% in 2022, while the 65+ share has declined from 54.8% to 52.6%. Suburban voters account for 46.5% of the early electorate, up from 44.3%, and the rural share has fallen from 29.7% to 28.8%. Infrequent Voters have increased from 9.4% to 11.5%.
Kansas is also seeing record ad spending. According to AdImpact, the U.S. Senate race has reached $84.5 million in spending and future reservations, making it the most expensive election in state history and up more than 3,300% from 2022.
