Early Vote Data to be Updated in Live-Time

Washington, D.C. – Today, TargetSmart, a Democratic political analytics firm, launched an updated version of TargetEarly, the first-of-its-kind dashboard of state-by-state early vote data that was first launched in the run up to the 2018 midterm election. This new version of TargetEarly will update early vote data in live-time for states holding elections in 2019, including Virginia & New Jersey.

“For years TargetSmart has developed best-in-class reporting and analysis tools on early and absentee voting for our internal teams and clients. This year, we’re building upon the successes of our previous TargetEarly dashboard to provide campaigns, reporters, and the public unprecedented insight into what the early vote in 2019 looks like,” said Tom Bonier, CEO of TargetSmart. “Virginia and New Jersey are holding key elections this year. Our hope is that TargetEarly will continue to provide useful insight in these elections and motivate more Americans to participate in the process.”

TargetEarly links early vote data to TargetSmart’s national voter registration database, where TargetSmart can observe and report on the demographic and political composition of individuals that have voted early, absentee, or have requested a ballot.

Information will be updated twice a day and includes a wealth of demographic data like age and gender; and modeled data like vote propensity, party ID and more. Data can be viewed in a variety of formats, including charts, plotted on state-specific maps and by eight demographic or modeled sub groups.

Next year, TargetSmart will launch a TargetEarly dashboard to track early vote data for 2020 primary states.
